Notice: 

I am Daniel He, a gameplay programmer from SMU Guildhall, with a passion for both programming and game design. As a player, I value gameplay above all else. In my view, good gameplay consists of simple rules that are easy to understand, supported by a variety of ways for players to experience them. I chose to be a programmer so that I could understand how game mechanics work and how to push them beyond their limits to create something unique and innovative.

 

My favorite types of games are roguelikes and sandbox games, especially those with a high degree of player agency and emergent gameplay. As a result, my biggest area of interest is procedural generation, as randomness can greatly increase the variety of situations players find themselves in and compel them to make interesting decisions.
